Open Space Protected Near Dubois
Laramie, Wy – Landowners in the Dubois area have agreed to protect more than a thousand acres through two conservation easements.
One easement is on the former Anderson Ranch. The other is on land owned by rancher Brian Kahin.
A conservation easement protects private land from additional development.
Both easements were secured by The Nature Conservancy. They protect a unique canyon through the red soils of the Chugwater Formation.
The area is also a buffer zone between the more developed Wind River frontage area and the Fitzpatrick Wilderness Area, Whiskey Mountain and private properties that are already protected by similar conservation easements.
