Laramie, Wy – The state Game and Fish Department is making recommendations to the Bureau of Land Management about how to minimize impacts to wildlife around Pinedale. The proposal is drawing criticism from the oil and gas as well as the agriculture industries. Some have said the Game and Fish is overstepping its boundaries. But, the director of the agency, Terry Cleveland, says in his mind things are getting blown out of proportion because these are just recommendations that the B.L.M. does not have to implement.
The Game and Fish Department is planning to meet with the Petroleum Association of Wyoming in August to discuss the recommendations. Cleveland does note it is their duty to advocate for wildlife though so they may not come to an agreement.
