Laramie, WY – Developers are considering building hotels in Pinedale and then renting the rooms out to gas field workers who need affordable housing. Mindy Crabb of the Sublette County tourism board says she has received about a dozen calls from developers in the last two years who want to build hotels to house workers. Crabb says the county already has enough rooms to meet tourism demand, and the area is at risk of over developing.
Crabb says the Hampton Inn and a Holiday Inn Express are in the pre-planning stages of development. She says the gas boom would need to continue for another seven to 10 years for the hotel investment to pay off.
