Laramie, WY – Wyoming Department of Corrections spokeswoman Melinda Brazzale says Warden Dawn Sides got a letter that told her of the plan. That's why she locked down the prison from Monday morning until Thursday night.
So she took this necessary measure to allow correctional staff the ability to do a thorough search for any contraband, Brazzale says.
During a lockdown, inmates are not allowed to leave their cells. Brazzale says the department is investigating and will release more information on Monday.
