Laramie, Wy – A police officer in Cheyenne yesterday shot a man brandishing what turned out to be an air pistol. Police say the man, Edward Hoffman, suffered a non-life threatening wound to the abdomen and was taken to the United Medical Center-West for treatment.
Police Chief Robert Fecht says officer Dave Padilla fired the shot at Hoffman after responding to reports from citizens of a man with a gun.
Padilla has been placed on administrative leave while the incident is investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.
