Laramie, Wy – The Bureau of Land Management and the Fish and Wildlife Service need help counting bald eagles.
The federal agencies are looking for volunteers for this winter's bald eagle survey in northeastern Wyoming.
The survey will take place on January 13th, and volunteers will have to keep a sharp eye for eagles while driving along routes through the Powder River Basin.
Twenty-two people volunteered for the survey last winter. They counted 123 eagles throughout the Powder River Basin. That included 80 bald eagles.
Public meetings ahead of this year's survey are planned January eighth at the Sheridan County Library, January ninth at the B-L-M's Buffalo Field Office and January tenth at the Campbell County Extension office in Gillette.
All the meetings will take place from seven to eight p-m.
