Republicans Demand State Records

Cheyenne, Wy – Governor Freudenthal's office is working
to respond to what it calls a massive public records request filed
by the Wyoming Republican Party.
In a news release today (Tuesday), Freudenthal says he has
"directed all state agencies and organizations to comply" with
the requests.
The state G-O-P has requested all documents related to the
governor's use of state airplanes.
In addition, the party wants all documents pertaining to
business between state agencies and the law firms that employ the
governor's wife and brother as well as documents related to
lobbying activities of both.
Wyoming G-O-P Chairman Drake Hill says it's important that the
public know what its government is doing.
The governor's attorney says the request could potentially cover
tens of thousands of documents from some 170 state agencies,
boards, commissions and departments over the past three-and-a-half
years.
