Riverton, Wy – A planned child care center in Riverton is
back on track.
The day care center is being built with the help of the state
and has been billed as a prototype for other such facilities built
with state funding.
Bids for the project in Riverton came in half-a-(m) dollars over
the budget. That prompted the company that planned to operate the
center to withdraw from the project.
But Riverton officials say a new owner has stepped forward and
the building's design has been scaled back to lower the cost.
The day care center will be built at the Central Wyoming College
Business Park and will provide room for 90 infants and children.
The State Loan and Investment Board has invested about
one-point-five (m) million dollars into the facility in hopes of
getting more people into Wyoming's workforce.
