Cheyenne, Wy –
Republican Mitt Romney has won Wyoming's Republican caucus. Eight of the 12 delegates supported Romney. Romney campaigned the most of any candidate and it paid off for him. Cheyenne Delegate Leigh Vosler will go to the GOP convention and support Romney. She had previously supported other candidates, who chose not to campaign in the state.
Others who campaigned in the state either won delegates or at least performed well. Three delegates will support Fred Thompson while Duncan Hunter receives one delegate. It means the Iowa Caucus winner Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani and John McCain were shut out of the Cowboy state. Wyoming Republican officials say moving their caucus to January was a huge success as the state saw record turnouts at county conventions.
