Seatbelt Bill Dies

Cheyenne, WY – Drivers in Wyoming still can drive without worrying about being pulled over for not wearing seatbelts.

Law Enforcement authorities do not have the ability to enforce the state seatbelt law unless the person faces another driving sanction.

Sheridan Representative Jerry Ieckle tried to change that.

But opponents argue that the enhanced law is not needed and they say statistics show that more people are wearing belts without the law.

The bill died when it failed to get enough votes for introduction.
