Cheyenne, WY – A bill that is intended to pay doctors more and get more low-income people health care has passed the Wyoming Senate. The bill sets up a health insurance program for low income people and encourages doctors to focus on prevention. Senator Charles Scott thinks it is a very innovative approach.
After a pilot program, Scott wants to expand the effort. Opponents say that the state should not provide health care coverage to this extent. But the bill has the support of a number of insurance organizations and health care groups.
