Shell Donates Two Million Dollars To Help Sage Grouse And Sublette County

Pinedale, Wy – Shell Oil Company is donating two million dollars to establish a pair funding projects through the Wyoming Community Foundation. One is a Community Endowment that will benefit towns in Sublette County and the other will be a fund that will be used to help Sage Grouse. Gordy Bannister of Shell says the idea came about as the company stepped up its drilling activities near Pinedale. He says officials met with community leaders to see what could be done to help area towns. Bannister says the donations appeared to be the best way to help.
The Wyoming Community Foundation will manage both projects, and help administer the community endowment. The Sage Grouse Fund is being named for Former Game and Fish Employee Tom Thorne.
