Sheridan, Wy – For roughly 20 years, Sheridan residents have been worried about protecting the Historic Sheridan Inn. Following the signing of an agreement that places a historic easement on the facility, it will be a long time before they have to worry again. Sheridan Heritage Center Board Member Della Herbst says it is the first time an easement has been placed on a historic structure in the state and she adds it will protect the facility for the next 50 years.
Herbst says the easement will keep key parts of the structure from being altered and it will keep the building from being torn down. She calls the easement a tremendous tool for those involved with historic preservation.
