Laramie, Wy – Avalanches in Teton County have claimed their second victim of the winter. An Idaho skier died Thursday.
Laurel Dana from Victor, Idaho, was killed when an avalanche swept more than 2,000 vertical feet down Taylor Mountain and buried her under three feet of snow.
Other skiers and snowboarders located Dana using a signal from
her avalanche beacon and dug her out but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
The first death this winter was Jesse Humphries from Riverton. He died while snowmobiling on Togwotee Pass.
