Laramie, Wy – A Chicago-based company plans to break ground on a new specialty hospital in Casper by the end of the year.
That's word from the manager of the business park where this hospital will be built.
Guerttman says National Surgical Hospitals Incorporated plans to begin work in the 45-bed facility by the end of this year, and to have the building completed by mid-2008.
Officials at Wyoming Medical Center have expressed concern that the new hospital would compete for insured patients, but would serve fewer indigent patients, leaving W-M-C holding the bill.
An attempt in the Legislature this year to place a moratorium on new specialty hospitals failed.
