State Hospital is Full

Laramie, Wy – The State Hospital is full. Right now the mental health facility doesn't even have enough bed space for all the people that are court ordered to get treatment there. The director of the State Hospital, Pablo Hernandez, says part of the reason is that some patients get sent there, but could get treatment closer to home.
Hernandez says unfortunately there is a shortage of mental health professionals in Wyoming. So, patients have to get sent to the State Hospital. He says this means they can only take people that are involuntarily committed.
