State health officials are confident that they are ready in the event of a Swine flu pandemic. State Health Department Director Brent Sherard says they have been performing mock drills and trainings for several years. "We have been preparing for this for a long time. We've had monthly meetings, we've met around the state with provider groups. One of the things we've done is purchased a lot of medications and have stockpiled those drugs. They are in secure locations around the state of Wyoming. Dr. Sherard says the best way for citizens to combat Swine flu is to take proper health precautions, including frequent hand washings. He currently is asking health care providers to send suspicious test results to the state health lab.
