Cheyenne, WY – The Wyoming House of Representatives gave initial approval to a statewide smoking ban after a heated debate that lasted for two hours. The debate pitted health concerns against private-property rights.
Supporters of the bill managed to strengthen the ban by removing
an exemption for bars. A House committee had added the bar
exemption during debate over the bill last week.
Under the bill, smoking would be banned in all indoor public
places, including restaurants and bars, stores, office buildings,
buses, auditoriums and schools.
