Teton County Considers Moratorium

Jackson , Wy – Teton County Commissioners are considering putting a moratorium on large housing developments until a new land-use plan is in place. County Commissioner Hank Phibb says that recently developers have proposed several large subdivisions just before the community decides how it wants the land used.

"There are three large parcels remaining on which significant amounts of relatively-dense development could be placed, and they are at the core of the community's planning effort. And right now, all three of those parcels have come forward with development proposals."
Phibb says it's not unusual for developers to apply for permits just before a new plan goes into place. The commissioners will likely take up the issue of a development moratorium on Tuesday.
