Tetons get weekend snow

Jackson, WY – he Tetons received about a foot of snow in
higher elevations over the weekend. The new snow drew skiers to the mountains, but still more is needed to open area ski resorts.

The Bridger-Teton National Forest Avalanche Center reported 5 inches of snow fell between Friday morning and Saturday morning. Another 7 inches fell from Saturday morning to Sunday morning. That brought the total snow depth to 27 inches at the one study plot at 9,300 feet elevation.

The snow brought out hoards of skiers and snowboarders. The Wyoming Highway Patrol towed several vehicles that violated parking rules at the top of Teton Pass.

The National Weather Service says temperatures should drop tonight, with a 70 percent chance of snow. The forecast calls for a chance of snow every day this week but Thanksgiving.
