Washington, DC – Senator Craig Thomas is promising further scrutiny of a deal to allow a company in the United Arab Emirates to take over operations at six major U-S ports.
Thomas says he's heard concern from a number of constituents during his current trip around Wyoming. Thomas doesn't criticize the deal directly, but says, he's disappointed that the administration didn't communicate better about the sale. Meanwhile Representative Barbara Cubin believes the Bush Administration should have consulted with Congress while reviewing the sale. Cubin says she doesn't believe President Bush would jeopardize the war on terrorism or U-S national security, but she thinks it's common sense that the American public would be skeptical of the sale.
