Togwotee Pass Work Not Hurting Tourism

Jackson, WY – A tourism official in Dubois says tourist
numbers and spending are up this summer despite construction on the
road over Togwotee (TOE'-guh-tee) Pass.
Bobbie Sue Carroll is executive director of the Dubois Chamber
of Commerce. She says that the town's businesses are in fact having
their best summer on record.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation is rebuilding U-S Highway 26/287 between Dubois and Grand Teton National Park. The project is expected to cost 150 (M) million dollars.
Carroll credits the Wyoming Department of Transportation and its
Togwotee Trail marketing program with helping get the word out that Togwotee Pass is still open.
She says travelers are being told that despite the construction, delays aren't taking more than 15 minutes.
