Laramie, Wy – Democrat Gary Trauner says voters have been telling him they're worried about the war in Iraq. The Democrat is running against Barbara Cubin for Wyoming's lone seat in Congress. Last week President Bush spoke of benchmarks by which Americans can measure how the new Iraqi government is doing. But Trauner says he doesn't know what those benchmarks are, and neither does the majority Wyoming residents he talks to.
"They're wondering how we're doing, if we're doing well, why people are dying. And so I think there is a level of frustration and there's a level of questioning that maybe might not have been there earlier. And I think it's valid." Trauner says he would emphasize the government's role in overseeing the war if elected.
