Laramie, WY – Wyoming has three bridges that are similar in design to the bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis. The Department of Transportation has now inspected two of them, and says those two are safe. Spokesman Dave Kingham says that result was no surprise.
We have an ongoing bridge inspection system and we're confident that's keeping our bridges in safe condition. We didn't expect to find any problems.
The third bridge, near Kaycee, will be inspected on Tuesday.
One bridge that inspectors have deemed safe is located nine miles south of Jackson and crosses the Snake River; the other is 40 miles northwest of Riverton near Diversion Dam.
