Cody, WY – The success of summer flights between Cody and Denver apparently has United Airlines ready to sign on for winter service. The consultant for the Cody Yellowstone Air Service Organization says his group and the airline have agreed to a contract and United should sign it by the end of the week. Rick Wilder says both sides saw summer traffic was better than expected and want to use that momentum to re-establish 12 month service to Denver. The group received a Wyoming Business Council grant to secure summer service and Wilder hopes to seek another grant to continue winter flights. Something working against winter service is the tourist traffic drops off. Still Wilder is optimistic the state will give Cody's grant application a fair hearing.
