UW Professor questions whether retaliation for Bin Laden will occur

Laramie, WY – A University of Wyoming Associate History professor says the death of Osama bin Laden could have an enormous impact on terrorism in the Middle East. Marianne Kamp is an expert on the region. She says Osama bin Laden had such a hold on al Qaeda operatives that without him she expects things will change.
"I can understand why there is a lot of concern about retaliation but I think that actually bin Laden's death takes a lot of oomph out of a movement. There isn't anybody else in the terrorist world who has the same kind of stature or name. And nobody else who could possibly motivate people in quite the same degree."
Kamp says she believes Bin Laden's death will also hinder al Qaeda's recruitment efforts.
