Casper, Wy – Calm, cooler weather and unusually high
humidity are helping firefighters continue to rein in a wildfire on
Authorities this morning (Friday) lifted an evacuation order for
several subdivisions. State Forester Bill Crapser says people are
being allowed to return to some sixty to seventy homes.
The evacuation remains in effect for around 300 homes, and that
includes the homes on Casper Mountain.
As of this morning, firefighters have carved a barrier around
half of the wildfire, which covers nearly 12-thousand acres five
miles south of Casper. That's the equivalent of about 18 square
