Wind River, Wy – The Wind River Tribal college sent its first graduates into the world this month. They received associate of arts degrees in general studies. The college also offers degrees in Arapaho language and environmental science, and plans to add degrees in social work, early childhood development and business. College director Marlin Spoonhunter says that should help degree-seeking reservation residents who have had to travel many miles to the nearest community college.
Spoonhunter says the college also meets the needs of native Americans on the reservation because instructors incorporate tribal history culture.. and language into the curriculum.
