Laramie, WY – More people flew from Wyoming airports this year than last year so far, thanks largely to increased business travel and a million-dollar marketing campaign.
The air service marketing coordinator for the state, Amber Schlabs, says Wyoming saw a nearly 15 percent increase in passengers statewide through August compared to the same period last year.
"We're really very positive about that because we would generally celebrate if we had a four or five percent increase, statewide."
Schlabs says passenger numbers are up at nine of the 10 Wyoming airports, when compared with 2006 numbers. The Department of Transportation launched its Fly Wyoming campaign in May.
