Wyoming pounds Idaho 42 to 10.
After a slow start on offense the Wyoming Cowboys football team rattled off 42 straight points on the way to a 42-10 victory over Idaho on Saturday.
Wyoming’s Quarterback Brett Smith started out 1 for 10 throwing the ball and the Cowboys failed to score in the first quarter. But thanks to Wyoming’s defense, Idaho couldn’t take advantage. Head Coach Dave Christensen says the defense dominated the game.
“The pressure that they put on the Quarterback, the coverage, the takeaways, a great effort, I think 7 sacks. We wanted to get more pressure this year, we wanted to disrupt the pocket and we did that today.”
Safety Marqueston Huff was proud of the effort.
“It was amazing just going out there and just giving the effort that we gave and containing them how we did.”
But the offense wasn’t all bad. Smith threw for 295 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 64 yards. Shaun Wick ran for 110 yards, making him the first running back since Christensen has been coach to rush for over 100 yards in back to back games.
