Roundhouse Festival – Evanston

Join the 15th Annual Roundhouse Festival Aug. 3-5!

This (model) Train show is put on by the Hostler Model Railroad club of Ogden in conjunction with the Evanston Roundhouse Restoration Inc. group.  It is a great show and fun for the kids.  There will be a small train the kids can ride on, several operating model train displays in 4 different scales, a model contest open to anyone, door prizes, raffle, food, a quilt show all for FREE (except for the food).  The show hours are listed below.  Tours will be given of all the facilities.

Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum

The Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum is one of the oldest non-profit organizations in Teton County, founded in 1958. Now located in a new year-round building at 225 N. Cache, the museum’s current exhibit is “Playing Hard: Labor and Leisure in Jackson Hole.” It explores the nature of recreation and how it evolved from the hard work of early day residents. The temporary exhibit is a sample of work gathered during a two-year collaborative project with Eastern Shoshone and Shoshone-Bannock tribal members.

Teton Science Schools – Jackson

Teton Science Schools is celebrating 45 years of teaching about the natural world and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem through its mission of connecting people, nature, place, and education. Since 1967, when Ted Majors created the first summer field ecology program for high school students, Teton Science Schools (TSS) has educated, trained and inspired thousands of children, youth and adults, bringing them together through the study of nature and its extension, place-based education.

Tour de Wyoming - Jackson (and Eastern Idaho)

Nearly 400 cyclists and volunteers will be visiting and touring northwestern Wyoming and the eastern edge of Idaho during the 16th annual Tour de Wyoming bicycle tour.  The six day event, which attracts cyclists from across the nation as well as international riders this year from Australia and Canada, kicks off on July 15 in Jackson.

Summertime in Jackson! Off to the nation’s ski capital and favorite wilderness destination, Teton County. Wyoming Public Media enjoyed co-hosting a planned giving workshop and taping a “lunch concert” in Jackson over spring break, where we met many wonderful people in your community. This summer, Wyoming Public Media will collaborate with The Grand Teton Music Festival, rebroadcasting the Weekend Orchestra Performances on Wyoming Public Radio and on the HD Classical Wyoming station. Wild West Balloon Fest - Cody (& Region)

The Wild West Balloon Fest draws ballooners from all over the country for a unique festival and competition set in a breathtaking arena. Balloons launch at dawn from a grass covered city park. The public is most welcome to mingle with the pilots and crews-indeed volunteers are welcome to help the crew. The pilots can instruct you on the spot for a new experience and a grand adventure. This is a small, relaxed rally. Safe, conservative flying is their hallmark, fun is the goal.

Celebrating the Plains Indian Museum Powwow - Cody

Periodically, the Plains Indian Museum staff fields the question “What makes your powwow unique and special compared to other powwows?” Typically, the question is asked by those who have never attended this powwow. However, once they do, the answer unfolds before them. The Plains Indian Museum Powwow has been celebrated for 31 years each summer in Cody, Wyoming, and now attracts 300 dancers from all over the United States, nearly 5,000 visitors, and is the largest, longest running public program at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center.

Cody Country Art League

Established in 1964, the Cody Country Art League is located in the original Buffalo Bill Museum.  The fine art gallery offers unique, original, and one-of-a-kind collectibles created by local artists. Paintings, jewelry, and bronzes are displayed within walking distance of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center.

Yellowstone Jazz Festival - Cody

The Yellowstone Jazz Festival will be celebrating 25 years of presenting live jazz to audiences this July. The Alex Nauman Jazz Trio will start the event with a free performance from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Cody City Park. The “Jazz on the Lawn” outdoor jazz event will be held the next day at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center outdoor stage in Cody with a different set of music featured every 45 minutes from 5:00 to 10:00 PM. Audience members will be able to hear everything from big band jazz to contemporary smooth jazz or to hear a great jazz vocalist.
